Welcome Back
August 2018
Welcome back to the 2018-2019 school year. We hope you were able to enjoy the beautiful summer and are refreshed to start the new school year. As you arrive we are sure you won't be able to miss the addition of our school name on the outside of the gymnasium.

We look forward to seeing our returning students and greeting our new students on Tuesday. We have been working on programming and security this summer and anticipate a great year.

Our grade 5 students will report to the media center to meet the team of teachers. Grade 6, 7 and 8 will report to their homerooms. A list of homeroom assignments will be posted in the hallways. This year, students will start the school day in their first period class rather than homeroom as we have in the past in an effort to increase instructional time.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR SCHOOL NURSE

New this year is our Pier School Medical Emergency Form which will be sent home with your student or downloaded from the link below. This form must be completed and returned to the clinic either taped closed or in a sealed envelope.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In preparation for the coming school year please contact me with any medical conditions or health concerns you may have that would impact your child in school (daily or emergency medications, allergies, etc).
As in the past we have students in all grades that have Peanut and Tree Nut allergies. All classrooms are Peanut/ Tree Nut Free. Please do not send in snacks to the class that contain these products. There are no restrictions at lunchtime.
A reminder that 7th grade students are required to have a report of a recent physical and updated immunizations. I understand that insurances may restrict dates of yearly physicals. Please let me know if your child has an appointment later in the school year.
I look forward to working with you and your child to make this a happy and healthy school year.
Be well,
Peg Fair, R.N.,C.S.N.T.
