Challenge of the Month - Dart
A great exercise for those with osteoporosis. A challenge for the abdominal muscles and shoulder blades which also extends the mid-back. Lying on your front with a cushion underneath your forehead. Engage the abdominal muscles, lifting your belly button from the mat. Exhale, lifting the arms and reaching towards the feet. If you can maintain the work in the abdominal muscles, simultaneously lift the head, keeping the chin tucked in. Hold to inhale and lower slowly back down on the exhale. Repeat 8-10 times. Resistance band optional. Please seek advice before starting any exercise programme.
