Intermediate Reformer Classes

This reformer class is based on the pilates matwork classes and builds exercises learnt on the Mat. You will learn a series of reformer exercises targeting your core, back, legs and arms in a three dimensional way.  Beginners or newbies who may need more assistance and guidance are recommended to book private or semi-private sessions on the reformer to learn the basics Pilates principles, foundations and language, more detailed before joining the group classes. The Imprint Pilates family welcomes Register Massage Therapist Rachel Llewellyn to the studio. Rachel completed her training and graduated from Sutherland-Chan School And Teaching Clinics in Toronto, Ontario in 2011. She had the opportunity to train at Sunnybrook Hospital in the High Risk Obstetrics Unit; at Princess Margaret Lodge working with cancer patients; and at Lyndhurst Hospital -Spinal Cord Center working with spinal cord injuries. She also completed electives that included Lymphatic Drainage, Neuromuscular Integration and Structural Alignment(NISA) and prenatal focus.

During school and having so much exposure to working with prenatal clients, she decided to enroll in a Doula/ Labour Support programme tailored to RMTs. At a young age, she developed an intense love for children and compassion for the labouring mother. She has since specialized in prenatal/ postnatal care massage and attends births while provide hands-on drug free pain relief.

She has also studied in depth, the body's connective tissue, and completed a Fascial Stretch Therapist (FST) programme. With this training she has refined her touch skills and is better able to read the body's tissue.  She has built upon her knowledge from NISA and the massage she has provided in the hospitals where she saw, first hand, how the body can adapt to anything. Working with people recovering from surgery to people who are immobile; she has a wide variety of experience with all kinds of postural adaptations. She loves to combine massage skills with her FST work to create positive change. 

Rachel welcomes the opportunity to help clients with the healing process in whatever form that may be.
