The week of January 26-31 is a very exciting time for us here at Pilgrim-

It's National Lutheran Schools Week!

All around the world, Lutheran Schools will be participating in fun activities to celebrate being part of the Christian Education system within the Lutheran Church. Here at Pilgrim, we have a great week lined up for your students- we hope you will all participate.

Sunday-  Worship together at Pilgrim Lutheran Church.- your child will be participating in the church service, beginning at 9:00 am. Following the service, we will fellowship together with a potluck brunch. Breakfast casseroles will be provided, you will just need to bring the following:
Families with last name A-M= please bring pastry type items (muffins, doughnuts, etc.)
N-Z = please bring a fruit tray or bowl of your favorite fruit to share.
We will begin each day in the gym with a short devotion time at 8:15. You are welcome to join us as we begin our day with Jesus.

Monday -   Character Day- come to school dressed as you favorite character from either a book OR movie. Please also bring a picture book to share during our chapel family read -a-loud time.
Tuesday Comfy Day- wear your P.J.'s or most comfortable clothes for the day. Stuffed animals are welcome! Students will enjoy relaxing and watching a comfy movie in the afternoon.
Wednesday Decade Day/Grandparents Day= Pick a favorite decade to dress up in. Perhaps the hippies of the 60's, or poodle skirts and rolled up jeans for the 50's. Grandparents Day will be held in the morning, with lunch at 12:00 pm. You are also invited to take your grandchildren off campus for lunch( permission slips need to be signed).

Faculty vs. 8th grade volleyball at 2:00 pm in the afternoon- all are welcome to attend!

Thursday -  Wacky Day- Dress as silly as you dare on Wacky Day. Crazy hair, mismatched socks, inside out clothes- you can be as wacky as possible!
We will be having Wacky Olympics in the gym after chapel on that day. Wacky things may happen throughout the day as well!

Science Fair/Spaghetti Dinner in the evening (dinner begins at 5:30-6:15, followed by Science Fair at 6:30)

F riday Holiday Day- choose your favorite holiday and show your love! Valentines Day, New Years Day, Christmas, etc. Adorn yourself with all the trimmings of your special season or day.
Kindergarten through 8th grade will be going bowling on that day as well.
As you can see, it will be a fun week of celebrating being a part of a Lutheran Christian School.
-------- if your child chooses not to dress up on any particular day, he/she must wear their uniform on that day. It is NOT an otherwise free dress week. Also, dress up attire must follow school dress codes. Thank you for following school policy.
