Elena Marin is a wife, mother, and entrepreneur who recently graduated with her Master of Arts in Counseling from Pillar College. She says she had a great experience at Pillar. Her cohort became like a family to her, so much so, that they took pictures together at the end of each class. “Pillar College has been very supportive, inclusive, and challenging.”

In addition to her M.A., she has a B.A. in law. She is an advocate for children and teenagers that are orphans or a part of the Foster Care System. She enjoys helping women and has her own jewelry business and uses her proceeds to bless women who are less fortunate.

God has been doing things in Elena’s life. She was recently promoted to Executive Assistant to the President. In this new role, she supports Dr. David Schroeder’s overall strategic management and policy adherence to the affairs of the College. She also works closely with the Board of Trustees.

We asked Elena her thoughts regarding her college experience and she shared the following:
What does Pillar College mean to you? Pillar College means home to me. It is a place that embraces cultural diversity and inclusion. We are still growing, and we have room for improvement, but Pillar has certainly impacted my worldview. Pillar offers more than a degree; it provides the opportunity for spiritual growth along with a professional career.

Why did you choose Pillar College? I chose Pillar College because it is the only Accredited Evangelical Christian College in New Jersey. Pillar also offers a flexible schedule for working adults with small groups in the classes, allowing you to have more access to the professor, which also improves the quality of your education.

How has Pillar College impacted your life?
If we want to change the world, change must begin with us, and it must start with our education
