Successful PILOT Program Leads to Addition of Literacy Program:
As the school year winds down, we want to highlight our significant success with our PILOT program, Cobbs Creek Math Club. This program's curriculum is created by working closely with teachers at our partner schools. Cobbs Creek Math Club utilizes workbooks and iPad programs to enhance and support students' work during their school day. Additionally, tutors are working closely in groups of 1-2 providing support on homework and supplemental enhancement work. We are beyond thankful for the help of our out-of-area volunteers, who are tutoring and providing significant support to make this program a success.

Due to the tremendous success that our Cobbs Creek Math Club has had, we are excited to announce that it has led us to expand our programming to add a literacy pilot program. We are currently and will continue working with our partners to find the best practices to support students as we move forward.

If you're interested in viewing any of these curricula, please contact Maria at Maria@cobbscreek.org, and she will gladly share the inspiring lesson plans with you.
750 Encouragement Buttons were Made to Support Students Taking PSSA's:
In a beautiful display of support and encouragement, our volunteers created 750 buttons to give out at each school's pep rally so the 3rd - 8th graders who are required to participate in the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) exams. Throughout the two weeks of testing, the kids were able to wear these beautifully decorated encouragement buttons while they were testing to remind them that we believed in them and had their backs.
Cobbs Creek Celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week:
May 8th - May 12th, we celebrated Teachers Appreciation Week. We took the opportunity to express our gratitude and admiration for the outstanding educators at Overbrook Education Center, Lewis C Cassidy, and WPACES by delivering Tyisha's Sweets to all our amazing Teachers. We wanted to acknowledge the remarkable efforts and unwavering commitment our teachers demonstrate each day in shaping the lives of our students.
