Thank you for your participation - Transportation Advisory Committee Meeting
A big thank you to all of the Pima County residents, who made it out to the Transportation Advisory Committee Meeting, held on April 23, 2019. I cannot say enough about my appointees to the Committee, Yolanda Weinberger and Albert Letzkus, and all the attendees, who so thoughtfully shared their concerns, expertise, and ideas.

Unfortunately, County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry wasn't so happy. He made his displeasure known in a bizarre memo. In that memo he attacked my very dedicated and respectful appointees as well as residents who begged for their roads to be repaired.

Mr. Huckleberry asserted that I "orchestrated a turnout of over 100 people, including busing in residents of the Fountains at La Cholla Senior Assisted Living Community."

If informing the public about a public meeting in their backyard is "orchestrating" then  I am guilty. Guilty of keeping residents informed and engaged. One of the most important functions of elected office.

Please read the memo [here] I sent to Mr. Huckelberry in response to his misguided missive. Below, you will find videos of some of the people who spoke out for safe roads and fiscal responsibility:

My pledge
At the beginning of the year I renewed my pledge to constituents to represent them faithfully - that includes informing them of important opportunities where their voices can be heard. Nothing will deter me - not even Mr. Huckelberry's relentless attacks - from representing you and facilitating your participation in our government.
