Monthly Update

Get Paid to Foster for the Holidays

The shelter launched its Home for the Holidays Foster Incentive Program in November and has extended the deadline to help get as many animals as possible into foster homes during the holiday season!

Made possible by grant funding, the shelter selected 36 dogs that citizens can get paid to foster. The shelter has seen success with the program, with 16 dogs now in foster, five of which have been adopted. The shelter plans to extend the Home for the Holiday through December and select more dogs throughout the month to add to the program.

Thanksgiving Fun at the Shelter

Volunteers help prepare Thanksgiving for the animals.

Lucan patiently waits for his Thanksgiving grub.

The Pinal County Animal Care & Control shelter does a Thanksgiving feast for the animals with pet-friendly holiday food each year! This year, volunteers helped cook enough food for over 200 animals, including dogs and cats. Volunteers prepare the bowls, and staff ensure that every animal at the facility gets their own Thanksgiving feast!

Pinal Pet of the Month

Meet Maxwell

December is National Cat Lover's Month, and we have a special kitty looking for a home! Meet Maxwell, who was found as a stray in October. Sadly, no one came forward to claim him as their lost kitty. Maxwell has been watching all his friends in the cat room get adopted before him. Typically, the shelter's cats are adopted within a week or two, but Maxwell has been with us for two months. Maxwell is lovely and a volunteer favorite.
