Pinckney PTO October 2019 Newsletter
Dear Pinckney Families,
On October 1 st , the State Department of Education rolled out the State Report Card school ratings for 2019. I am thrilled to share that Pinckney received an Excellent rating once again!  I am so proud of our students and staff who, through their hard work, have achieved this rating. Additionally, I thank all of our Pinckney parents for supporting their children and our teachers.
Another success we are celebrating is that of the Park West Campus Education Fund Campaign. Thank you for your generous contributions! With your donations, we have raised a little over $26,000 for Pinckney We look forward to purchasing some robotics equipment, beginning an after-school drama club, holding professional development sessions in the area of student engagement, and updating playground equipment. I extend my appreciation to both the PWCEF and PTO Boards for working in partnership to ensure the PWCEF campaign was a success.
Lastly, at our front entrance, we now have the added security feature of a camera that is equipped with audio. This will require visitors to be visually assessed and questioned before entering the foyer. Speaking of security, please remember that if you arrive at school in the mornings before the school opens, please remain with your child until the 7:05 bell rings. At that time, our staff will begin supervising students.
Thank you for your support of our students’ academic success, the fall campaign, and security procedures.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Sheppard

REMINDERS about AUTOMATED CALLS

  • Even if you call the school to report your child's absence on a given day, you will still get an automated attendance call from us. These calls are scheduled to go out mid-morning.
  • Only in rare circumstances will you get a call from the principal during school hours. If your caller ID show's ANY missed calls from Pinckney, during school hours, please wait a few minutes, and check your voicemail before you call the school back. Often, there will be a message in your voicemail that explains the reason for the call.

Staff Appreciation Corner:
Do you want to know a teacher's Birthday or favorite color? Or, maybe their favorite thing to eat as a special treat? A list of "Teacher & Staff Favorites" can be located in the main office.

Also...each class is paired with a special area or other important school staff member. It's really wonderful to recognize these individuals who help make our school operate and assist our children outside the classroom.

Happy Birthday Staff!!
