A Message from the Board...

Dear Patrons and Friends of the Pineapple Playhouse!

It has been an exciting couple of months here at the Pineapple! We were thrilled with the response of our last 2 shows, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and our most recent production, Squabbles. These 2 shows, combined with some generous donations from our patrons, allowed us to tackle some much-needed repair and maintenance/ updating to the theatre and its grounds.

The Pineapple Playhouse was built in 1972, so after 50+ years of hurricanes, tropical storms, tornados, pandemics, and overall wear and tear, our girl has required some much-needed TLC. Contractors recently put the finishing touches on the installation of a new septic system. We re-painted the floor, the shadow boxes and doors in the courtyard. We installed a state-of-the-art audio system in the theatre, and in another week, we will be upgrading our theatrical lighting system. We have even been able to hire a part time maintenance person, to help keep up with all of the projects that come along with an aging property. All of this has been possible thanks to you, our patrons. Whether it's thru the ticket sales or from donations, your contributions to our theatre have not only been greatly appreciated, but desperately needed, and vital to theatre operations.

Our season still has a way to go, and you will definitely not want to miss what we have coming up! The hilarious hit musical, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, opens March 21st and runs to April 6th. Back by popular demand we have the magic of Randy Forster who will be joining us Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13th. Finally, ending our 2024/ 2025 season, we have Ken Ludwig's, The Fox on the Fairway, which runs April 25th to May 11th. Not for nothin' (as we say in New Jersey), but with the way tickets have been selling, I recommend that you purchase your seats to these shows as soon as possible.

Finally, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to you, our dedicated patrons, for your continued support. Your commitment to the performing arts and to the Pineapple Playhouse is why we continue to thrive, show after show. If you are interested in making a charitable donation to the theatre, becoming a member, or if you're just interested in volunteering, auditioning, or looking to advertise in our playbill, I ask that you please visit our website at http://www.PineapplePlayhouse.com or call our Box Office at (772) 465-0366.

We look forward to seeing you at the Pineapple and as always, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

Sincerely,

Alex Yahn

Secretary, Board of Directors

History of the Pineapple Playhouse

'The Fantasticks' directed by Don Lord in 1991 at the Pineapple Playhouse

Shown: Stacey Bare and Brian Pecci

'The Fantasticks' is a 1960 musical with music by Harvey Schmidt and book and lyrics by Tom Jones. It tells an allegorical story, loosely based on the 1894 play The Romancers (Les Romanesques) by Edmond Rostand, concerning two neighboring fathers who trick their children, Luisa and Matt, into falling in love by pretending to feud.

We're delighted to invite passionate individuals to join our vibrant community and lend their talents to the enchanting world of theatre. As a volunteer-driven organization, we believe in the transformative power of the performing arts to inspire, connect, and enrich our community. Whether you're an experienced backstage wizard, a creative set designer, or someone eager to contribute their time to support the arts, there's a place for you here. Volunteering with us is not just about helping stage incredible performances; it's about forging lasting connections, unleashing creativity, and being part of something truly special. Join us in bringing stories to life, creating unforgettable experiences, and fostering a sense of camaraderie that extends beyond the stage. Your unique skills and enthusiasm are the spotlight we've been waiting for. Let's make magic together!
