Message from the board...
The 2024-2025 Pineapple Playhouse season is about to come to a close with 'Fox on the Fairway' running from April 25 through May 11. This hilarious farce caps off one of our most successful seasons in the theater’s long history. Box office revenue was a record and audiences wrote rave reviews. As the season draws to a close a generous supporter has stepped up and presented a challenge to match any donation made through the end of the Fox on the Fairway run on May 11.
The theatre has already made significant capital improvements including a new roof, new sounds system, new HVAC equipment and septic system. Soon it will be replacing all of the theatrical lighting which has literally been functioning since the theatre’s opening, over 50 years ago. With a building as old as ours, the projects are endless. This is why your donation are always welcomed and appreciated.
We’re welcoming back a former Pineapple Playhouse member Jadie Barringer, Jr. who has written an original play titled 'Civil Whites' which will run from June 26-28. Jadie wrote and produced 'The Juneteenth Experience' several years ago at the theater and returns with another play dealing with the history of social justice in the country. This has become part of the tradition at Pineapple Playhouse which will revive 'The Mountaintop' in January.
Our annual membership meeting is on May 14 when we elect candidates for three seats on the board of directors. Please try to attend but if you’re unable, be sure to cast your vote by email
And lastly our annual awards dinner will be held on Friday May 30 from 6-9 pm at Legacy Golf and Tennis Club in Port St Lucie. There will be a buffet dinner and live music. Attendance is limited to 90 people so get your tickets soon
Thank you for your continued support. We’ve set the bar very high but we’re excited to bring our audience another season of the highest quality theater on the Treasure Coast.
