A Message from a Board Member...
On behalf of the Pineapple Playhouse’s Board of Directors and its Trustees, it is a pleasure to welcome you to the Pineapple Playhouse for our 2024 / 2025 season. As you may already know, we just wrapped our first show of the season, 'Drinking Habits', by Tom Smith and directed by Patricia Holerger. Patricia, her cast, and crew did us proud. This season’s opening show was not only the highest grossing production we’ve had in over a decade, but it broke attendance records, with 75% of the shows selling out. Don't get me wrong, gross ticket sales and attendance records are great, but what brought me the most joy was hearing about the large number of ‘first timers’ to the theatre. This tells me that we are doing it right and that we are making an impact in the community. Something we have always strived to do.
For over 50 years, the Pineapple Playhouse has been producing some of the most powerful productions on the Treasure Coast and this season is no different. With 6 main stage productions, and some "special productions" sprinkled in, this season will not disappoint. As we start the season, let us remember the importance of community. Let us continue to support one another, lift each other up, and allow the power of the performing arts to bring us closer together. Whether you’re an actor, a volunteer, a donor, or an audience member, you are a vital part of the theatre’s success. If you are interested in joining the Pineapple community, please visit our website at www.PineapplePlayhouse.com or send an email to thepineappleplayhouse@gmail.com. We are grateful for your support, and look forward to seeing you in the audience, backstage or in the spotlight!
With warm regards,
Alex Yahn
Secretary

"Faith Healer' by Brian Friel | |
Throughout the remote and forgotten corners of the British Isles, Frank Hardy offers the promise of redemption to the sick and the suffering. But his is an unreliable gift, a dangerous calling which brings him into conflict with his wife Grace and his manager Teddy. Their competing accounts of past events reveal the fragility of memory and the necessity of stories as a means of survival. Brian Friel's Faith Healer was first produced at the Longacre Theatre, New York, in April 1979 and was revived at the Donmar Warehouse, London, in June 2016.
“The night of Faith Healer is one that still blazes in recollection for me, as religious experiences of art do. And it became a sort of touchstone for me in understanding not only Mr. Friel's work with a depth I hadn't appreciated before but also for defining the elusiveness of great art and the pain of the artist who creates it.” – Ben Brantley, The New York Times
