Jabil Innovation Center Opens

As a part of its $67.3 million Pinellas County expansion, Jabil opened its new Innovation Center in St. Petersburg's Gateway business district.  As the company continues its growth, it expects to add 300 new jobs and create a cohesive campus for Jabil's expanding local workforce.

OnMed Launches Telemedicine Stations

OnMed, headquarted in Pinellas County, recently launched its Interactive Telemedicine Station in Clearwater. The OnMed station will diagnose patients and dispense prescription medicine in real time. OnMed Chief Communications Officer Doug Smith explained, "The  OnMed station is a virtual walk-in clinic and pharmacy wrapped up into one.  It is a private, secure, self-contained space where patients can walk in and see a real doctor on the screen and leave with their prescription. It is the ultimate one-stop health care visit for patients looking for a convenient and safe way to see a doctor."

Pinellas County Commission Vice Chair Pat Gerard attended the launch, saying, "These innovations and this life-changing and life-saving technology is being developed here, in Clearwater. We have the talent and the business climate in Pinellas to support and help growing companies, like OnMed, to expand rapidly. Doug has shared with us that although the staff here now is small, but mighty, they expect to have over 100 employees by the end of 2019."

Global Tampa Bay in Panama

Pinellas County with our Global Tampa Bay partners and nine local companies had a productive trade mission to Panama from March 18th - 21st.  Highlights of the trip included the Ambassador's Reception where Commissioner Karen Seel, Chair of the 2019 Pinellas Board of County Commissioners, touted the advantages of the Tampa Bay region for growing businesses. Although final numbers are still being tallied, preliminary reports indicate that the nine local companies that attended are projecting over $7 million in future sales as a result of this trade mission. Apply to Present at the Florida Early Stage Capital Conference, May 9 - 10


The Florida Venture Forum is calling for outstanding private companies from the state of Florida and beyond to apply to present at the 2019 Florida Early Stage Capital Conference. In addition to the opportunity to present before an audience of active equity investors, presenting companies meeting designated criteria will compete for the Accelerating Innovation (AI) Award, offered by Space Florida. The AI Award offers  cash prizes totaling $100,000 (Early Stage companies: Grand Prize winner: $50,000, 1st runner up: $25,000 Start-up companies: Grand Prize winner: $15,000, 1st runner up: $10,000) to eligible Florida companies and to out-of-state companies seeking to relocate or establish a presence in Florida. UNITE Pinellas Collective introduces the
2019 Equity Profile: April 18

UNITE Pinellas is a collective of county leaders from all sectors and walks of life, supported by the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg, United Way Suncoast, and the Juvenile Welfare Board. Please join them for a morning of compelling and informative presentations and the release of the 2019 Pinellas Equity Profile. This is the first countywide assessment of economic and quality-of-life measures through an equity lens. Pinellas County Solid Waste offers more opportunities to "talk trash" at three public workshops

Pinellas County Solid Waste is inviting residents, businesses and business partners to attend one of three upcoming Master Plan Workshops to review existing solid waste programs, and provide feedback about potential new countywide waste, recycling and reduction programs, as well as evaluate opportunities to create more renewable energy from waste.  Participants are encouraged to attend a workshop location convenient to them. The following workshop dates will provide the same information at each location:
