Vology to Expand in Pinellas County
200 Jobs Projected in the next 2-4 Years
 
Vology, one of the nation's largest managed IT services providers, announced a significant corporate expansion in Pinellas County. The company hired 80 new staff members in 2016 and expects to add an additional 200 positions over the next 2-4 years as it continues its steady growth. The company currently employs 310 in Pinellas County. 
 
The new expansion will allow the company to accommodate its growing number of employees and a Network Operations Center. The project is expected to reach a $3.75 million capital investment and will encompass 60,000 square feet in the Bay Vista Office Park within the City of Largo.  
"We're very pleased that Vology selected Pinellas County as the best spot for the future growth of one of Tampa Bay's most recognizable and fastest growing technology companies," said Mike Meidel, Director of Pinellas County Economic Development.

June 13 Workshop 
 
Join special guest Ms. Norcia Ward-Marin, U.S. Commercial Service Trade Specialist in Bogota, Colombia to learn more about exporting to Colombia.

Colombia is Florida's second largest export market and the fourth largest economy in Latin America making it an excellent market for Tampa Bay exporters. U.S. exports to Colombia have increased 15 percent since the implementation of the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which immediately eliminated import tariffs on 80% of U.S. consumer and industrial products.

Updated Tampa Bay Manufacturing Workforce Analysis

This updated report indicates that the category  with the most anticipated 12-month vacancies is Production Technical Support, with over 200 projected openings.  Overall, respondents projected the need to hire nearly 2,000 employees over the next 12 months and more than 5,000 over the next 36 months. Click here to learn more and view the entire update.
Join the Conversation: 8th Annual Pinellas County Community Conversation, June 15
 
Pinellas County residents are invited to join the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners and the County Administrator in a Community Conversation to discuss county services and important topics live on June 15. The public meeting will take place from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at St. Petersburg College- Seminole campus, in the University Partnership Center Digitorium, 9200 113th St. N., Seminole. It will be preceded by a Meet and Greet from 5:30 to 6 p.m.
 
There are five ways to participate in the conversation:
  • Be part of the live audience at the St. Petersburg College- Seminole campus.
  • Watch it and ask questions on Pinellas County's Facebook or post on Twitter and Instagram accounts using #pinellascc.

June 1-4: Disaster Preparedness Tax Holiday
