What started as a collision repair facility in Pinellas Park has been transformed into a family-owned craft brewery and axe throwing venue—offering a one-of-a-kind experience for locals and visitors alike. Pee Pa’s Garage Craft Brewery, owned by James “Jim” Brown, is now a thriving destination where guests can enjoy fresh craft beer, host private events, and try their hand at axe throwing in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

To bring their vision to life, the owners turned to the Florida SBDC at Pinellas County Economic Development and business consultant Debra Schweikowsky. Together, they developed a strong business plan and financial projections that helped secure financing. When the business was impacted by hurricanes in 2024, Debra helped Jim secure emergency loans to support the company's resilience.

Workforce Training Grants Open July 1

Take advantage of valuable workforce training grants available through CareerSource Florida. Starting July 1, funding will be available for two key grant programs designed to help businesses stay competitive and build skilled talent pipelines:

·    Incumbent Worker Training (IWT): grants to help existing Florida businesses train current employees, close skills gaps, boost productivity, and improve retention.

·    Quick Response Training (QRT): grants for new or expanding businesses to quickly train new hires in the skills needed for success.

Pinellas County is developing a Post Disaster Redevelopment Plan to help our community recover smarter in the future. We need your input to identify high-risk areas and shape strategies for recovery, stronger infrastructure and more. Please take 10 minutes to share your experiences.
