November 2024

Principal Message

Dear Pineview Families,

November is a month in which we tend to express our gratitude a little more often and with a little more gusto than any other month. With that being said, we at Pineview Elementary are extremely grateful for our Pineview families and all the ways they continue to support student learning. The big things are nice, but it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. Helping your student have great attendance, arriving on time, communicating with your child’s teacher, and encouraging your student to listen and do their best are just a few of the things that make a big impact on your child’s learning. We thank you, and your child(ren) thank you!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) as they continue to support our teaching and learning in many ways.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are being held Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, November 8, 2024, from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. If you have not scheduled a conference with your child’s teacher, please contact them to set up an appointment for your conference. This is a wonderful time to check in on your child’s progress and see which learning goals are coming up. Our students are always so excited to have their parents/caregivers visit.

If you have gently used and clean snow pants, coats, and/or boots that your family has outgrown we will take them here. They will become part of the collection of items for those who need them. They could also be donated to the Webb Middle School Care Closet at Webb Middle School. The Care Closet also takes adult sizes.

October’s PBIS focus was Kindness and our students really showed us that they are kind! There were so many sweet actions and kind words happening between our students.

Take time to notice and compliment your Pineview students when you see them choosing to do things The Beaver Way!

  • Be Safe
  • Be Kind
  • Be Responsible

November’s PBIS focus is The Beaver Way in the classroom. Each teacher and class will be choosing their own goal for the month. Ask your child(ren) what their class is working toward.

Expecting Excellence,

Mrs. Jenny Hynek

Vote November 5th - School District of Reedsburg Referendum - Pursuit of Excellence

Referendum 2024 - Pursuit of Excellence

As we approach November 5th, Superintendent Dr. Roger Rindo shares the facts about the referendum questions, in case you have missed it, along with some new information,

“Our finalized state aid on October 15th came in higher than estimated, and the total equalized value in the District increased more than estimated. With those final numbers in, I can confirm here that if both referendum questions pass, the impact will result in an increase of $.06 cents per thousand dollars of home value. In other words, the school tax impact if both questions are approved would be an increase of $6 dollars for every $100,000 dollars of equalized home value.”

Watch the video and join us in our continued pursuit of excellence in Reedsburg on November 5th.

Learn more about our two Referendum questions on the district website.

VOTE NOVEMBER 5th, 2024

Remember to flip the ballot, as the School District of Reedsburg's Referendum questions are on the back of the ballot. The questions will appear on the November 5, 2024 ballot as follows:

QUESTION NUMBER ONE:

Shall the School District of Reedsburg, Sauk and Juneau Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $4,000,000 per year for four years, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year and ending with the 2027-2028 school year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of operational and capital maintenance expenses?

QUESTION NUMBER TWO:

  • Shall the School District of Reedsburg, Sauk and Juneau Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to issue pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $14,000,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of a school improvement project at the High School consisting of: construction of an addition and renovations for construction trades, manufacturing, engineering, agriculture and other classroom areas; capital maintenance, systems and site improvements; and acquisition of furnishings, fixtures and equipment?

Why?

Like many Wisconsin school districts, the School District of Reedsburg does not receive adequate funding from the state to keep pace with inflationary increases. Added operating funds will allow the District to continue on its upward trajectory. Renovated Career & Technology Education spaces at RAHS will allow the District to continue to build rigorous career pathways and academic programs for ALL students.

Loganville School Sale Completed

The School District of Reedsburg announces the sale of Loganville School at a price of $350,000. Closing was completed on Monday, October 28. It is the District’s understanding that the buyer intends to convert the building into an event venue.

Regarding the sale, Board President Gary Woolever stated, “We were happy to complete the transaction for Loganville School. The sale was consistent with our long-term facilities plan, and being able to take the building off line at this time will result in some savings for both energy costs and insurance for the remainder of this budget year.”

Superintendent Dr. Roger Rindo added, “It took a while, but the School Board remained patient and focused on getting the sale over the finish line. That’s a strong group with a really solid vision for the future of the District. What we’re seeing in the District doesn’t just happen. Strong school boards make that happen.”
