Dear Supporter,
The year of 2021 was one we endured through a continuing pandemic. Pink Clover pushed forward even more this year. Unfortunately, for our Comfort Recipients, breast cancer did not take a break during the pandemic. These brave women keep battling as they go through their chemo and radiation treatments. In addition, while fighting breast cancer, personal finances can become another problem.
Because of our partners, sponsors, participants, and volunteers, we successfully pulled off the following events this year - 3rd Annual 5k Run\1 Mile Walk at Washington Lake Park, the 4th Annual Golf Outing at Harbor Pines, the annual "Pink Out" football game at the University of New Haven, two breast cancer education seminars that were held at the Cornerstone Community Church in Millville (the keynote speaker was Dr. Kulkarni from Inspira Health Network) and the Ocean City Public Library (the keynote speaker was Dr. Chawla from AtlantiCare), the Philadelphia Union game, and Christmas Caroling for our Comfort Recipients.
The money raised helped Pink Clover provide grant assistance to six new breast cancer comfort recipients from the southern New Jersey region.
Our fundraising efforts enables Pink Clover to assist the research being conducted at the Colleen Sorbello Research Laboratory at the University of New Haven. In 2021, the laboratory had recent discoveries published that may shed light on a possible link between Breast Cancer and Lyme disease.
In addition, money raised this year allowed Pink Clover to continue our support of the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia for prevention trials that focus on breast cancer recurrence.
Other relationships Pink Clover established in 2021 were: AtlantiCare – providing speakers for our education seminars and assisting women who are going through breast cancer treatment , and Gilda’s Club South Jersey which is a cancer support community.
Throughout the year, members of Pink Clover came together with an outreach program called the Ministry Group which provided spiritual support to women that were fighting breast cancer.
Thank you again for the support and generous donations throughout this past year. Without you, we wouldn't be able to accomplish our goals.
Pink Clover added three new trustees to our board: Kiersta Pachuta, Kristine Fredricksdorf, and Mary Ann Muhlbaier. Their valuable addition has allowed our foundation to expand our overall scope.
We look forward to a 2022 that is both great for your family and you, our comfort recipients, and every women battling breast cancer.
