It's National Mentoring Month!
We celebrate Mentoring Month because we understand the one-of-a-kind, meaningful support that mentoring provides. That's why our 1:1 Mentoring Program is so important to our mission. We match Survivors at any point in their breast cancer experience with other Survivors who have a similar diagnosis and treatment history but who are further down the road in navigating the journey. Here's there take and ours.

Beauty at the Pink House
We combined January's Survivor's Night with our self-image series, Be You, Be Beautiful as Hollywood make up artist and two-time cancer Survivor Satya Linak shared skin care and beauty expertise along with her moving story. Special thanks to Paul Mitchell School of Charlotte and Denise Antonacci Salon for making this happen. Two dozen Survivors were on hand, and we also streamed part of it impromptu on Facebook Live.

Pink in the Rink is coming right up on February 2. Now is the time to get your tickets! Let's pack the stands when the Charlotte Checkers go all out for local breast cancer organizations! It's so much fun!

Inspiration Matters
Each year we are honored to bestow the Kristy Adams-Ebel Angel Award to an individual who--like Kristy herself did in founding this organization--displays selfless acts of consistent and joyful service to breast cancer Survivors. In December, the award was given to Kathy Goodman, a breast cancer Survivor and a longtime volunteer for Carolina Breast Friends. Discover more about the award and its recipient.

Have you got inspiration to share?
We are refreshing our Inspiration Jar, an outreach item we offer Survivors when they visit the Pink House for the first time. The jar is filled with uplifting thoughts and inspirational quotes from breast cancer Survivors (so we need to hear from you!). If you have an inspirational thought or favorite quote that helped you on your journey with breast cancer, we'd love to consider it for the jar. Send it, along with your age and year diagnosed, to kbarry@carolinabreastfriends.org by February 4.
