It has been a great start to the 2022-23 school year! New practices in place, new staff on our team, new industrial technology addition - we are going to have a fabulous year here in Pioneer Country!

This year we welcomed nearly forty new staff members to the Pioneer Family! Click the image to meet our newest Pioneers.

New year, new (and improved!) website

Last spring, the technology and media departments started the process of updating our school's website. While it was time intensive, we are thrilled with the results. The new website has a search feature, is ADA compliant, and allows users to translate text. The most popular links can be found at the bottom of every page for staff and parent resources along with current employment opportunities in our district. The most noticeable detail is the change in the web address from the bit clumsier pierz.k12.mn.us to www.pierzschools.org.

All staff emails have also transitioned to this new domain and in most cases, you will find that staff use the first letter of their first name with their last name @pierzschools.org

Try the new translate feature!

And - look for a brand new Pierz Schools app to hit the Apple and Google Play stores later this fall!

Industrial technology department getting a makeover

The industrial technology improvement project at the high school is fully underway. The remodel of existing structures and addition of space will bring industry-standard equipment, facilities, and storage areas to our welding, woodshop, and agricultural programs. For a full description, be sure to check out our district blog.

Jill Hoheisel honored for her dedication to Pierz Schools, students

At halftime of the football home opener, Pierz Special Ed teacher Jill Hoheisel was honored by the Pierz school and the Granite Ridge Conference for her outstanding dedication and commitment to the students of Pierz, whether in the classroom or for the incredible amount of activities that she helps out with. Jill runs the concession stands at athletic events, she chaperones at games and concerts and musicals, she helps out at Cross Country and Track and Field Meets, and on top of that, she's just one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Pierz Activities Director Dave Rocheleau presented Jill with a plaque at halftime. Thanks for all that you do, Jill!
