Large Group Contest Hosted at Healy

Pierz Schools hosted the Region 5 Large Group Band Contest this week for area schools. Royalton, Albany, Holdingford, Melrose, Upsala, Foley, and Pierz Symphonic and Concert Bands brought their best to the contest. Judges Dr. Peter Haberman, director of bands at Concordia College and Dr. Justin Zanchuk, director of bands at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, looked on and offered coaching sessions after each performance.

Join us in congratulating both our Symphonic and Concert bands on their unanimous superior ratings from the judges!

Math Masters faced tough competition

The 6th Grade Math Masters team has always been a strong contender in math competitions, thanks to the years of dedicated coaching by Mr. Denny Rothstein and their ASPIRE teacher Mrs. Sadlovsky. And yesterday our math gurus once again battled for the top spot!

Facing what was reportedly 'one of the closest competitions we’ve been a part of', Pierz added and subtracted, divided, and conquered their way to 2nd and 5th place. Note: the 5th place Pierz team was only one point away from a three-way tie for second place! Congratulations to these students and to all PreK-6 staff who have taught them so well!

Looking Ahead

  • March 13, 14, 15: High School Spring Play, Little Women
  • April 3 & 4: Pioneer Elementary Musical, Matilda, Jr.

Community Education

Community Ed FAQs

When can I sign up for the classroom portion of drivers ed?

The class schedule will be published in April when drivers confirm their schedules. We haven't capped these classes in the past so no need to worry about registering on day 1.

Students must be 14 years or older.

When can I sign up for behind the wheel?

We are booked through May and summer sessions will be available in April. These will fill quickly so watch here or on Community Education's facebook page for the opening date. Students must have their practice hours completed prior to driving with the instructor and should try to schedule their hours a few weeks before their road test.

When will summer rec offerings be published?

We are working to confirm schedules with coaches and instructors now so you can expect registration to open by the end of April. We will offer many of the same offerings as in the past, sports camps, cooking and art classes, play/musical, and a safety class. If you have ideas for classes or are willing to offer one, give us a call!

Community Education uses the same class registration as the Activities Department. Please call if you have any trouble creating your account. Although both activities and community ed use rSchools, you won't be able to check out a varsity sport and a youth camp simultaneously. User experience will be the same making it easier to navigate but they are two different stores requiring separate log-ins. You can create the accounts with the same username and password to keep things simple! A link to both stores will be on the Activities page and the Community Ed page. Lunch payments will still be made with Edutrak.
