April 8, 2022
Welcome Back PRE Families!
Our annual CMAS testing will begin on Monday, April 11. Please see the details from Mrs. Strickland about this year’s CMAS testing:
Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will participate in CMAS testing this year. This means that each of those grades will have 3 sessions of English Language Arts and 3 sessions of math. Grade 5 students will also have three sessions of science. Testing begins April 11 and will end by April 28. Only one session will be administered a day. All testing is completed digitally using iPads.
Since iPads will be used for testing, iPads will remain at school until testing is complete. This ensures that iPads will be charged and working. Because of CMAS, students in grades 3-5 will have activities for our April 15 remote learning day that do not require iPads. Your child’s teacher will communicate with you about this as well.
Teachers will work with students on completing practice sessions and familiarize themselves with the app. You can help at home as well.
Talk with your child about doing their best and remaining positive
Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep
Students should eat a healthy breakfast and lunch (grades 4 and 5 will test in the morning, grade 3 in the afternoon). Each student will also receive a snack on days when they test
Contact your child’s teacher or me with any questions.

Assistant Principal
If you have not yet completed your online registration for new and existing students, please do so as soon as possible so we can plan for next year. The link to register is below in the fliers. When completing your registration, you will need to provide address verification in the form of your utility bill dated within the last 30 days.
If you would like to request teachers for the 2022-2023 school year, the form will be available in person at the PRE office April 18-22. We work thoughtfully to create balanced classes that meet the needs of each student and this is an optional piece for you as parents. The form will ask for your child’s strengths and needs, as well as two suggestions from you for potential teachers. Again, this form is an option should you choose to fill it out.
Teaching changes for next year currently are:
Mrs. Barry will loop with her class to third grade.
Mrs. Havens will loop with her class to second grade.
Mrs. Stevens will be joining the Milliken Middle School team as an Assistant Principal.
If you have a student in Mrs. Barry’s class or Mrs. Havens’ class and would like your child to remain with the same teacher, you do not need to take any further steps. If you would like your child to have a different teacher next year, you can communicate directly to the office or complete the request form. If your child was not in Mrs. Barry’s class or Mrs. Haven’s class, you may request Mrs. Barry or Mrs. Havens; we will consider those requests as space is available.
