A Message From The PRE Office
January 7, 2022

Welcome Back PRE Families!

This was a great week at PRE!  We loved seeing your students come through the doors and hear about their break.  If you are near campus you may notice that we got a new intercom system installed while we were gone.  PRE also has three new water bottle filling stations.  There is one outside the gym, one on the north end of the building and one on the south.

With winter weather officially here, we will be outside for recess unless the wind chill is below 20° or there is significant rain/snow falling.  We will go outside when there is snow on the ground.  Your child(ren) are welcome to bring snow boots along with their coats, hats, and gloves.  A change of clothes in their backpack is also a good idea.

A few reminders:
Students are asked to wear their student IDs to ride the bus.  Bus suspensions are possible for repeatedly not having an ID. If an ID is missing, students can check the ID lost and found outside the main office.  Replacement IDs are $5 and when ordered, the old ID will be deactivated.
Breakfast is served every day from 8:10-8:25.  Students enter through the west doors of the cafeteria for breakfast.
Our school day begins at 8:30.  In order to be on-time, students need to be in class by 8:30.  Students arriving at the building at or after 8:30 need to be signed into school by a parent.
When in the pick up line, please do not exit your car.  If you need to leave your vehicle, please access parking on the north side of the building, in the front lot, or on Cinnamon Teal Ave.
We ask that students wait to enter vehicles in the pick up line until the vehicle is stopped at the curb.

Have a great weekend,

PRE Wellness Spotlight
SWAT is a group of students that are working with our School Wellness Team. Together these student ambassadors serve as innovative thinkers, creative planners, and positive problem solvers. They are the voice of student wellness in our school. Experience has shown SWAT teams have a positive impact on the overall health, wellness, and education of the entire student body. So far we have been working on helping the school recycle, as well as how to be SUPER and healthy in the lunchroom. This team will also work with staff on planning wellness events such as 5210, the Fun Run, and work to become student mentors.

Voluntary Weekly COVID Testing
We are partnering with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to implement a screen-testing system to slow the spread of Covid-19 in our school. We appreciate the opportunity and understand the responsibility we have in addressing this public health emergency. The Mobile Health team that CDPHE is providing to our school is ready to help us make this in-person learning safe and seamless. The consent link is included in this newsletter and here is the link to the electronic consent form required for student participation in COVID testing, both in English and Spanish for Pioneer Ridge Elementary. All students under 18 will need to have a consent form signed by a parent/guardian in order to be tested.
