Construction Update on East-West Pedestrian Improvements


As the Pioneer Square East West Pedestrian Improvements Project wraps up construction on S Washington St between Alaskan Way S and 1st Ave S, the work zone will move directly east to S Washington St between 1st Ave S and Occidental Ave S, as early as Wednesday, August 7th. Also, our work zone at S Main St between 1st Ave S and Occidental Ave S will reopen to vehicles starting Monday, August 5th!


Coming up soon, there will be weekend work and a full closure of the intersections at 1st Ave S and S Main and S Washington streets for asphalt paving on Saturday, August 17th to Sunday, August 18th. More details to follow. Stay tuned by signing up for weekly construction email updates. Facade Improvement Fund Now Available for Business & Property Owners


The Alliance for Pioneer Square invites business owners & property managers to apply for the Facade Improvement Fund, supported by the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development. The fund provides financial support for improving building facades & storefronts, worth up to $5,000 per business and applies to improvements made on or after January 1, 2024. Applications will be accepted until funds are expended. Download the application and email admin@pioneersquare.org to submit.

You're Invited: Midday Mixer at Central Saloon on August 20th

Come have lunch, enjoy live music, and connect with your neighbors next month. Our second summer networking event is on Tuesday, August 20th from 11a - 1p at the legendary Central Saloon

2026 FIFA World Cup Virtual Info Meeting on 8/12 & 9/17


 Please join the Alliance for Pioneer Square and the local organizing committee for a kickoff conversation as we prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup coming to our neighborhood.

We will also host two initial virtual meetings on Monday, August 12th at 10:30a and Tuesday, September 17th at 1p, focusing on sharing information on what is known to date, and to gather feedback on the structure of the future planning work here in Pioneer Square. 100 Free Neighborhood Sundaes with The Pastry Project and Cone & Steiner

To celebrate the launch of the new Pioneer Square branding, we're giving out 100 free soft serve Neighborhood Sundaes in collaboration with The Pastry Project and Cone & Steiner on Friday August 9th, starting at 3p.


The giveaway is first-come-first-serve. The Neighborhood Sundae is a twist soft serve, topped with malty hot fudge and Cone & Steiner crushed malt balls. Don't miss out on this limited time treat!

Neighborhood Spotlight: Friend Museum

This month, we're spotlighting Friend Museum, a new third space that just opened in Pioneer Square. Combining coffee, retail, art, a bottle shop and tattoos, it is a place you can come be yourself, find your community, and enjoy art in its many forms. Friend Museum offers vintage ready-to-shop items from local Seattle vendors, along with community-focused events, such as classes and pop-ups. Friend Museum's retail doors open this August 1st for First Thursday Art Walk (5p - 9p) featuring artist Rya Wu. Come explore their new space and give them a follow on social media!
