New to the Neighborhood

This month, we're spotlighting three new openings in the neighborhood that have been years in the making: Molly Moon's, Metropole, and Populus Seattle.

Located in the historic Washington Street Boat Landing Pergola, the new Molly Moon's scoop shop in Pioneer Square offers one of the best views in the city. Stop by for a treat while watching the ferries come in and out of the dock.

Originally built in 1852, the Metropole was purchased by the Satterberg Foundation in 2019 for renovation and revitalization. The Metropole has been developed into a nonprofit center for communities of color. The Metropole recently had its soft opening and will officially open its door to the public soon.

Populus Seattle officially opened last month in the neighborhood. Created by Urban Villages, Populus is the new carbon-positive, adaptive-use hotel located in the former Westland Building. The hotel features more 300 works of art—each created on-site by 35 local and international artists. Stop in for dinner at Salt Harvest, then visit Firn, Pioneer Square’s first rooftop bar—for a unique fire-and-ice dining experience.
