First Thursday Art Walk
Join Seattle’s Original First Thursday Art Walk in Pioneer Square. The art walk is FREE & self-guided, every First Thursday of the month and parking is free from 5pm to 10pm! Check out www.FirstThursdaySeattle.com to learn more about the event and how to obtain free parking during Art Walk.
Shop Small in the Square
Shop Small Saturday celebrates what makes Pioneer Square so vibrant- our businesses. To kick off the holiday season, Pioneer Square will host a welcome and information booth at Occidental Park on Saturday, November 27th from 11am to 2pm to provide information on Shop Small Saturday, as well as guide folks to the neighborhood’s small businesses.

Free Parking Saturdays

Parking is free at the Butler Garage (114 James St) from 11a-8p each Saturday with proof of purchase from a neighborhood business. You can also check out the mobile-friendly DowntownSeattleParking.com website for more parking locations throughout the neighborhood.
Coffee Break in Occidental Square

Join us for our next Coffee Break event on November 10th from 10a-12p under the pavilion in Occidental Square.

Sound Transit staff will be at Coffee Break to talk about the West Seattle and Ballard Link Extensions light rail project, upcoming important milestones for the public, and how to get engaged.

The holidays are quickly approaching. Treat your employees to a gift card from another neighborhood business and make your dollar go further through the "Our Pioneer Square" gift card matching program. The Alliance is matching 20% of gift cards purchased by the community at Pioneer Square businesses.

Takeover Program
Each Friday, we give neighborhood businesses and organizations the opportunity to share a series of photo and video content to the Alliance for Pioneer Square’s social media channels via stories, feed posts and live video updates, for the entire day. Pioneer Square Business Improvement Area 2021 Annual Meeting
Join us on November 17th, 2021 from 4:00-5:30p as we will look back on 2021 and ahead to 2022. Meet BIA Stakeholder members, Alliance board members, and Alliance staff while connecting with your first floor and upper level neighbors.
De-Escalation Training with the Metropolitan Improvement District
Join the Metropolitan Improvement DistrictSeattle Police Department and the Alliance for Pioneer Square for an in-depth training program that teaches how to recognize, reduce, and manage aggressive behavior. Over the course of the presentation we'll provide effective and compassionate methods of handling anxious or aggressive people, as well as increase confidence and introduce skills that can be used during threatening situations.

Members Sought for Seattle’s Design Review Boards

The City of Seattle’s Design Review Boards are now seeking candidates for multiple upcoming board positions for terms beginning April 4, 2022. Applications are due by December 15, 2021. To be considered for appointment, please send a Design Review Board application, cover letter, and resume to Erika Ikstrums at erika.ikstrums@seattle.gov. Applicants should have knowledge of, or interest in, architecture, urban design and the development process.  
Round 4 Request for Proposals:
Historic South Downtown

Historic South Downtown is soliciting proposals for our fourth round of grants supporting capital projects or operations.

Successful projects will serve Pioneer Square and/or the Chinatown-International District in identified priority areas that align with Historic South Downtown values and principles. Historic South Downtown intends to provide both capital and operations funding. 

Grants should lead to community benefits that remain after Historic South Downtown funding is expended. Funding will be given to projects located within or serving people in Pioneer Square or the Chinatown-International District (or both), as defined by the City of Seattle. Apply here.
Small Business Stabilization Fund
Round 6 Now Open

The City of Seattle's Office of Economic Development (OED) has released Round 6 of the Small Business Stabilization Fund, investing an additional $4 million to stabilize micro and small businesses negatively impacted by COVID-19. The Small Business Stabilization Fund is accepting applications until November 9 at 11:59 p. Businesses can apply here and access support by calling 206-684-8090 or emailing oed@seattle.gov.
Neighborhood Construction Updates
Waterfront Seattle Construction Ongoing on New Alaskan Way

Waterfront Seattle continues building the new Alaskan Way. Starting as early as 7 PM on Friday, November 12, working through Sunday, November 14 access on Alaskan Way will be maintained with one lane in each direction between S King and Columbia streets to switch traffic to newly built lanes and officers will be on-site to assist in directing traffic.

Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program’s
New Connection on Railroad Way Underway

Work is now underway on the final project of the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program, which will build a new Railroad Way and make other significant improvements near the south end of the State Route 99 Tunnel. Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation expect to complete construction in late 2022.

Areaways Program

SDOT recently completed safety inspections of the Pioneer Square areaways. Curb lane restrictions will remain in place while SDOT continues to monitor, evaluate, and strengthen the areaway street walls throughout Pioneer Square.

Revive I-5: Preserving the freeway

WSDOT is working to ensure that the interstate continues to perform at its best for as long as possible, preserving I-5 through regular inspections and preventative maintenance, along with months-long construction projects.
