Waterfront Construction Update
Waterfront Seattle began construction on S King St between Alaskan Way S and 1st Ave S, in mid-September. Work in this zone is anticipated to take about two months to complete, and S King St will remain open to vehicle traffic for the majority of the work. Some overnight and weekend closures may occur. Parking on S King St will be restricted for a majority of the work. Improvements will include new sidewalks, trees, and other plantings. Business access will be maintained and pedestrian and vehicle access will be maintained with occasional detours in place.
Paint striping work was completed in September, making 2nd Ave S a two-way street between S Main and S Washington streets . This complements other changes in the area with S Main St becoming one-way eastbound and S Washington St becoming one-way westbound between Alaskan Way S and 2nd Ave S.
Roadway paving continues on S Washington St between 1st Ave S and Occidental. Waterfront Seattle will continue roadway restoration, sidewalk construction and planting in the coming weeks.

Neighborhood Spotlight: Baba Yaga | | |
|
|
This month, we're spotlighting the newly opened Baba Yaga, Seattle's morning, noon, and night rock and roll clubhouse.
Having opened its doors last month by Ryan Granger of the rock band The Grizzled Mighty, Baba Yaga aims to be an all-day clubhouse where music lovers can have lunch, grab a drink, and enjoy a show.
Ryan is currently working on Baba Yaga’s downstairs venue space, which will evenutually host regional bands and national touring artists of all different genres. Keep an eye out on their website and social media for more information. In the meantime, the upstairs bar/restaurant/cafe portion will be able to host smaller shows. Stop by or order out for lunch or dinner and be sure to give them a follow on social media!
