Construction Update on East-West Pedestrian Improvements

Waterfront Seattle will be starting on S King St between Alaskan Way S and 1st Ave S, as early as Monday, September 9. This zone is anticipated to take about two months to complete, and S King St will remain open to vehicle traffic for the majority of the work.

Over on 2nd Ave S, there will be striping work which will change 2nd Ave S to a two-way street between S Main and S Washington streets. This compliments other changes in the area with S Main St becoming one-way eastbound and S Washington St becoming one-way westbound. This work will happen overnight, and no parking will be permitted between 6 PM Monday, September 16 and 6 AM Friday, September 20 on certain streets. Facade Improvement Fund Now Available for Businesses



The Alliance for Pioneer Square invites business owners & property managers to apply for the Facade Improvement Fund, supported by the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development. The fund provides financial support for improving building facades & storefronts, worth up to $5,000 per business and applies to improvements made on or after January 1, 2024. Applications will be accepted until funds are expended. Download the application and submit to admin@pioneersquare.org.
