Wagon Wheel Blended Learning Incentive Program!

 Pinecrest Inspirada Families,

We are so excited to update you on the minor changes we have made to our Wagon Wheel Blended Learning Incentive Program. We want to first thank you for your partnership with ensuring that your child is completing their blended learning goals in both iReady and ST Math. We can not stress enough the importance of giving your child ample time to complete their reading and math learning path as well as sharpening their math skills in ST Math. Below you will find the expectations in order for your child to participate in the spinning of the wheel.

Students will need to complete the following expectations:

Kindergarten, 1st , and 2nd Grade:

2 Passed Lessons in iReady reading

2 Passed Lessons in iReady math

Students complete a range of 30-40 Minutes per week on iReady in reading and math

3% in ST Math

3rd - 5th Grade:

2 Passed Lessons in iReady reading

2 Passed Lessons in iReady math

Students complete a range of 40-50 Minutes per week on iReady in reading and math

3% in ST Math

Reminders:

Students will have from Monday morning to Sunday night at midnight to complete their lessons. They will reset every week giving each student the opportunity to spin the wheel on Monday. Please note that each teacher has a designated time each day for blended learning in their classroom.

These new expectations will start when we return back from winter break on January 2, 2024. In the meantime, we would like you to take this time to get caught up. By January 2nd, students should have completed 28 lessons in iReady reading and iReady Math and 48% completion on ST Math.

Thank you for your continued support!

Have a wonderful rest of the year,

Pinecrest Administration

A New Message From our the SEL Program

Greetings!

This month, our schoolwide theme is emotion management. In our class, we’ll be prompting students to notice their own feelings by paying attention to clues in their bodies, and we’ll be reminding them to use their Second Step skills to calm down:

  • Stop—Use your signal
  • Name your feeling
  • Calm down: Breathe, count, use positive self-talk

These skills help students calm down strong emotions when faced with learning and social challenges, which helps them succeed academically and get along well with others.

Second Step lessons specifically teach about calming down strong emotions such as anger, disappointment, frustration, and anxiety. You’ll be receiving Home Links that describe why managing strong emotions is important and include fun activities to do with your child to help him or her identify strong feelings and calm down. We hope the Home Links will give you tools to use together when your child is upset.
