Shepherd I.S.D. Spotlight

Mr. Kevin Lee is our truancy and probation officer for SMS and SISD. Mr. Lee has been with Shepherd ISD for over 25 years and has established many relationships within our schools and community. This past week, Mr. Lee and our SISD Police Department have been tracking our student attendance and making home visits to ensure communication between our schools and our Pirate families. Anyone that knows Mr. Lee knows that he is a truly caring person and he wants the best for not only our Shepherd students but our Shepherd families.
Staff & Students across the District
Mrs. Lindsey Swiech's Principles of Human Services class studied the history of costumes and fashion, did a concept drawing, and then created a design in a group to make a complete outfit out of newspaper and tape.

5th grade started coordinate planes this week. They moved the desks and created a life size coordinate plane. The students made up their ordered pair, wrote it on a sticky note, and plotted it with their bodies. Thank you to SIS for making learning fun!
Mr. JJ LeBlanc is one of our Science teachers and a coach here at Shepherd Middle School. He is also the Instructional Team Lead for the Science Department. Coach LeBlanc has also taken on the responsibility of leading our Academic UIL this year. He has done an excellent job throughout the entire process. This past weekend our SMS students competed in Huffman and 12 of them placed in an event or multiple events. Thank you Coach LeBlanc for your continued hard work with the success of our students.

Check out our newest AR Points Club Members! With their help, Shepherd Intermediate has read over 7 MILLION words this year!
