Faculty members win PInCh award
Professor Valire Copeland and Associate Dean for Research and Browne Chair Shaun Eack are part of a winning team for a $25,000 Pitt Innovation Challenge 2020 award for their part of the project "Thinking in Speech." A cognitive therapy that helps children with autism independently cope with everyday events that cause stress, by developing their ability to use “inner speech” – the voice in our heads we use to think. Whitfield gets attention for new grant
Assistant Professor Darren Whitfield received a $443,533 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health to investigate the relationship between psychosocial factors (depressive symptomatology, substance use, social support, perceived HIV risk) and adherence and persistence to HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) among young Black gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM).
