CSEA Bargaining Update

Tentative Agreement Reached, Pending CSEA Ratification and PUSD Board Approval
The Pittsburg Unified School District is very pleased to announce that a final Tentative Agreement was reached on May 29, 2019 with the Classified Schools Employee Association, Pittsburg Chapter 44. During the parties' bargaining sessions, proposals were exchanged on Article III – Organizational Security, Article VII – Wages, Article VIII – Employee Benefits, Article X – Leaves, and Article XXII – Classification/Reclassification/Upgrade.
For salary and benefits, the District and CSEA reached a 2-year agreement: CSEA employees will receive a 1.5% on-schedule salary increase retroactive to July 1, 2018; a 1% on-schedule salary increase effective July 1, 2019, plus another 1% on-schedule salary increase effective January 1, 2020. Benefits remain status quo.
Both parties may reopen one article each (excluding Wages and Benefits) for 2019-2020.
The District would like to thank CSEA leadership and members. The dialogue exchanged between the parties throughout the bargaining process was respectful, productive, and helpful in understanding the points of view.
