Senior Happenings



We are starting to finally see some signs of Spring and glad to see our friends back in the center! Are you interested in participating in a potluck under the pavilion? Email seniors@pittsfield-mi.gov. We'll start an interest list to see if we have enough participation for one in the spring or summer.


The grand opening of the New Montibeller Pavilion is scheduled for April 1st at 11am. Stop by and check it out! Light refreshments will be provided.


The Senior Spring Fling is scheduled for May 19th at 1pm. We'll have fun, food and prizes at this FREE event! Make sure you register!


We are working on creating targeted interest lists for new recreation emails! If you're interested in getting emails specific to Nature Programs, Day Trips, Adult Programs, Intergenerational/Family Programs, Youth Programs, please sign up HERE!

This program is run by Washtenaw Senior Nutrition and gives seniors 60+, the opportunity to receive nutritious meals and meet other seniors in the community. A $3.00 donation is requested. Join our very own Jen Davis, Naturalist, for a variety of nature programs at our parks.


Full Moon Hike - Pink April 8 - 8:00 - 9:00pm $12NR/$7R

Take a sparkle lit moonlight hike at the Lillie Park trail loop! Listen for the sounds of owls, foxes, and other animals. We will stop to admire the Full Moon and discuss the history of the many names for the Full Moon. End the walk with a roaring fire at the firepit and share some hot cocoa and stories. **Bathrooms are closed for the Season. Please plan accordingly**


Spring Foraging April 14 6:00 - 7:30pm $15NR/$10R

Have you ever wondered about foraging? Are growing grocery bills making you think about whether you can “eat the weeds” in your own backyard? Join us for an Intro to Spring Foraging!

Spring is a perfect time to begin the journey of learning about the plants in your area and what you can eat or make medicine from or even what you can use for other things. Winter can feel long and cold in Michigan and getting outside to soak up the sun and learn about new and familiar plants is a great way to greet the spring. This Class is for adults.


Tea With the Trees April 21 2:30 - 4:00pm $10NR/$15R

Time in nature provides many benefits. As spring unfolds around us, let’s join together for a short walk and peaceful time together having tea with the trees. Please dress warm and bring a blanket and perhaps a cushion to sit on.
