Pittsfield Senior Center vs PSI Travel Group Membership
Understanding the difference...

Pittsfield Senior Center Membership
Pittsfield Senior Center is within the Parks & Recreation Dept of Pittsfield
Township and is primarily funded by PittsfieldTownship taxpayer dollars.
The Senior Center offers:
- Dance classes
- Fitness classes
- Enrichment classes/activities
- Day Trips
- Special Events
- Workshops
Senior Center Annual Membership:
- $5/R (for residents) or
- $10/NR (for non-residents)
Payments for Pittsfield Township activities, classes or day trips can be made with cash, check or credit card.

PSI Membership
Pittsfield Seniors Inc (PSI) Travel Group is a non-profit organization that was created to facilitate extended travel trips. They also host other events like Freebie Fridays, holiday party, casino trips and potlucks. Pittsfield Township provides the space for these activities to occur.
PSI Travel Group Membership is $5/year (regardless of residency).
This is a separate membership in
addition to the Pittsfield Senior Center Membership. If you plan to participate in PSI activities or extended trips, please sign up for this membership in addition to your Senior Center membership.
All payments to PSI must be made by check payable to PSI.
Questions regarding PSI policies or trips can be directed to the contact
information on the flyer for the trip.

You may have noticed some housekeeping around the center. We've opened up an additional room to house classes starting in November. This will allow us to add new programs and classes to our offerings and provide space for PSI Travel Group FREEBEE FRIDAYS and POTLUCKS.

Focus: HOPE
Focus: HOPE now offering FREE monthly food distribution on the second Thursday of every month,11-11:30am, in the Senior Center parking lot. 11/9 & 12/14.
This program is for seniors 60+. For additional information, Focus: HOPE can be reached at 313-494-4600.

Dementia Friendly Movie - at Emagine Theater in Saline
Tickets for Dementia Friendly Screening events are just $5.00 each. Free snacks. To reserve your tickets email dementiafriendlysaline@gmail.com. Movies are shown on the second Wednesdays of the month.

Washtenaw Support Network for Caregivers
Washtenaw Support Network for Caregivers is a new program to support informal/family caregivers of older adults (age 60+; the caregiver can be an adult of any age). They offer a variety of services, all at no cost to the caregivers.

Rock & Roll Happy Hour
"Rock and Roll Happy Hour" is an event that has been covered by Good Morning America and the New York Times, as a fun event for older people who want to get their rocking in, but also get home by a decent hour. Every Friday from 6:30 to 9 pm, LIVE Nightclub in Ann Arbor has a well-regarded band play in the early evening. The band is rocking and people are dancing the whole time! Admission is free, but also feel free to throw a tip into the band tip jar!

Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less
The Area Agency on Aging 1-B is a new, FREE virtual workshop for older adults who want to get healthier through weight management, mindfulness and exercise.
Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less is a 15-week program led by a registered dietitian nutritionist. Participants are expected to commit to the program, which is held weekly for one hour by Zoom. Lunchtime, late afternoon, and evening classes are available.
The workshop will cover practical strategies for adopting new behaviors that will lead to desired outcomes. Participants in Eat Smart will receive materials after they register, including a welcome kit mailed to their home that includes a program workbook, a mindful eating journal, and measurement guidelines.

Thinking of adopting a dog or cat? Longing for kitty or puppy cuddles but can’t have a pet? Want more information on our local humane society? Then this presentation is for you.
HSHV experts will talk about the benefits of pets, considerations for adopting, and ways to get involved with animals.
They will also share information on their newest program, Friends for Life, which provides resources for seniors to help them lovingly care for their companion animals. There will also be time for Q&A.

This class is designed to keep you moving. Using warm-ups,traditional poses, and focused breathing, yoga promotes strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, and a sense of calm. Learn a series of gentle movement patterns from the Feldenkrais Method to restore function in your hips, knees and feet. Hips, knees and feet are meant to work together in a coordinated way. Each class will explore and restore this coordination leading to improved balance, less pain and easier walking. The class will be a mix of sitting in a chair and/or lying on the ground. Everyone’s favorite holiday classic captivates audiences for the 41st year at Meadowbrook Theatre, with the tale of a mean-spirited miser and the ghosts that haunt him. We’ll travel to Meadowbrook Theatre by Luxury Coach for the 2pm show. Then we’ll head to downtown
Rochester to take in over 1.5 million points of glimmering light that cover the buildings. You will wander, shop, and/or eat dinner on your own, from 5:30-7:30pm.
