Senior Center Newsletter

November 2023

Thanks to everyone who came to the Health & Resource Fair on October 13th. We had 34 vendors providing great information to over 100 attendees as well as Michigan Medicine providing Flu Shots. We hope you found the Health Fair educational and fun!

There's a lot happening around the senior center as we close out 2023.

This summer, we were advised our recreation software that helps us with registration is no longer being supported. "Why does that matter to me?" you make ask. Well, first if all, we are working diligently setting up our new software so we don't skip a beat with registration and to avoid a delay in the start of winter classes.

Second, this will also require everyone to create a new account so you can register for any and all the programs you attend. The old system will not transfer your account or class history. This is a great opportunity to make a fresh start and make sure your data is correct. The new system will be able to email you like the old one and will eventually be able to text participants also! So having the correct information is essential for good communication about what's happening here!

All classes will require registration and any FREE programs will require current membership to the Pittsfield Senior Center. Membership is ANNUAL (Jan-Dec) and costs $5 for Pittsfield Residents and $10 for Non-Residents. We understand this is a new requirement for our senior center but it follows what every senior center in Washtenaw County does and is less than half the cost of comparable centers.

We hope you find the new software an asset to your experience here at the senior center. We'll be hosting some sessions to learn about the software and creating your account as well as using the kiosks to sign in for class. More details will be coming next month. Our plan is to have the system ready on December 1st for our Winter 2024 classes starting in January.

Questions regarding PSI policies or trips can be directed to the contact

information on the flyer for the trip.

And finally...A little housekeeping

You may have noticed some housekeeping around the center. We've opened up an additional room to house classes starting in November. This will allow us to add new programs and classes to our offerings and provide space for PSI Travel Group FREEBEE FRIDAYS and POTLUCKS.
