Senior Happenings


As promised, this is the monthly update to our new format newsletter. Click on bolded text to register.


After our big snow on the 25th, we'd like to remind you our weather hotline is 734-822-3160 for the most up to date information.


Ballroom dance is still looking for one more participant. Class starts on February 17th. 10 sessions. $65NR/$60R.


We're looking for 16 more people to come to the The Lion King musical $105NR/$100R. Don't delay and risk this day trip getting cancelled. This is also an early release day for AAPS so grab a grandchild and join us!


Kim and Stacie are going to the movies at Cinemark. 80 for Brady on February 7th at noon. Email us if you'd like to join us! Seniors are responsible for purchasing their tickets. We'll meet at Cinemark and follow up discussion at the senior center if you'd like to join us.


New for Spring: Square / Folk Dancing

No experience needed! Fun level dancing. Come experience America's heritage of easy square and folk dances with a skilled caller, Richard Maurer. Please wear comfortable shoes. FREE

1st and 3rd Sundays in March. 1-3pm

1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays in April. 1-3pm


We've heard you and made some changes to the schedule at the Senior Center...


Open Cards and Games is now Canasta! Come join us Mondays 10-11:30am.


Mahjong is moving to 10am on Tuesdays!


Bridge will be moving to Fridays at 12:30pm - coming in April! Note - Bridge will not happen when we have Special Events setup during the day at the center.


Spring/Summer programs are being worked on now. Have an idea or recommendation for an activity, email Stacie.

Have you ever wanted to give archery a shot? Here's your chance! This introductory program to archery covers safety and basic shooting skills. All archery equipment is provided, and no prior archery experience is required. Archery can improve; focus, posture, memory and hand-eye coordination. And it adapts to anyone. Space limited to 12 people per section. Pre-registration required. More senior archery programs coming...stay tuned.

Freebie Fridays

Bring your gently used items and leave with items new to you here at the center! Hot dogs will be provided, a $2 donation would be appreciated. Also, bring your favorite individually wrapped goodies to have with your hot dog. Sponsored by PSI Travel Group.

This program is run by Washtenaw Senior Nutrition and gives seniors 60+, the opportunity to receive nutritious meals and meet other seniors in the community. A $3.00 donation is requested. Place your order Saturday-Monday, and then pick up your items on Thursdays, 2:00-6:00pm @ 6201 W. Michigan Avenue, Ann Arbor, 48108 (Platt & Michigan Avenue) throughout the year.
