Tax Preparation for low-income households program makes a pivot

When the pandemic hit, we had to cancel the remaining client tax preparation appointments. But thanks to funding from the United Way of Mass Bay and Merrimack Valley and well as support from you, our donors, we have been able to pivot and continue to offer tax preparation services for the clients who were counting on us.

These almost 200 clients will be encouraged to use the MyFreeTaxes website to see if they can complete their taxes online. For those that find they are unable, we will encourage them to get their taxes done by a tax professional and upon submission of their receipt for these services, they will receive reimbursement from Beverly Bootstraps.

This program was started to ensure our clients apply for the Earned Income Tax Credit as well as take advantage of our volunteers' knowledge of tax codes to get the maximum refund possible. Our clients depend on these refunds to stay afloat, and although the program will look a little different now, we are happy to be able to offer alternatives to help, especially during these difficult times.

The Thrift Shop is re-opening!

On Thursday, June 11, the Thrift Shop will start accepting donations again. And on Wednesday, June 17, the Thrift Shop will reopen for shopping!

Please note that face coverings/masks will be required for both donating and shopping. Please familiarize yourself with our full donating and shopping guidelines before your visit.
