Join the Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) on Thursday, July 23, at 6 p.m. for a virtual information session on the Plainfield U.S. 2 Slope Remediation Project.
Hosted by the AOT Project Team via Zoom, the information session will begin with a presentation providing an overview of the project, including the project milestones, construction phasing and schedule, and anticipated traffic impacts. The team will also share ways for residents, businesses, and travelers to stay informed throughout construction.
Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask the AOT Project Team questions. The information session will conclude following the Q&A. We encourage anyone interested in learning more about the project and its anticipated impacts to attend.
The Agency of Transportation will ensure public meetings are accessible to all people. PROJECT OVERVIEW: The Vermont Agency of Transportation is conducting a slope remediation project on U.S. Route 2 (U.S. 2) in Plainfield, just west of the Vermont Route 214 (VT 214) intersection, to address damage from the 2024 flooding. Work includes stone fill and guardrail installation, and related roadway improvements. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2026, with an interim completion in November 2026. Construction will then shut down for the winter, resume in spring 2027, and conclude in summer 2027.
