VOL XXV, ISSUE 6

Farewell to 40!

Plains Talk began as a single-sheet quarterly printed publication we handed out to our clients back in 1999. More than 25 years later, we're blown away that we get to send our e-newsletter to more than 2,000 subscribers every other month.

It's one of many nostalgic trips down memory lane we've taken during our 40th anniversary, and yet another example of just how far West Plains Engineering has come, and how uniquely we've grown. Through every success, challenge, milestone and memory - we sincerely thank you for being a part of our journey.

Happy New Year & Cheers to 2025!

2024 in Review

Thank you just doesn't quite seem to cut it. There are truly no words to express our gratitude for getting to work with and for our colleagues, clients and partners 365 days a year...for the past 4 decades. It's been a year of change and growth for our firm. We remained dedicated to honoring our history while embracing our present. And as 2024 comes to a close, we can't wait to continue designing our future together!

  • This year we supported more than 280 projects across 10 U.S. states;
  • These included manufacturing facilities, schools, mixed-used developments, commercial spaces, offices, infrastructure, and more;
  • And involved getting to work with more than 120 different clients.
  • We elevated our team from within, welcoming Marty Christensen as our President and Daren Beckloff as Engineering & Operations Manager;
  • And added more talented team members to help keep production on track.
  • We relocated our office in Casper to accommodate our growing staff in Wyoming;
  • And celebrated 30-year milestones for both Marty, and Dave Riemenschneider.
  • We were able to give back to the communities we serve through our WPE Ways to Give program;
  • And continued to invest in the culture and professional development around our amazing team!

2024 Charitable Giving Contributions

One of the key pillars of our company culture is a belief in growth and development. We’re invested in the idea that each member of our team should be given an opportunity to shine not just professionally – but as a member of their community as well. One of the ways we support our staff in this effort is through our multi-faceted corporate philanthropy program.

West Plains Engineering Ways to Give is designed to empower employees to make a difference in their local communities on every level. Not only does each have a voice in selecting causes for our firm to support financially, but each is also recognized and rewarded for getting out and participating in local events and initiatives that hit close to home.

There are three tiers to the program:

  1. Corporate Giving: Our largest single annual charitable donation that goes to an organization or initiative that reflects our firm's culture and values.
  2. Community Investment: Each of our four markets selects a local program in their community to receive a $1,000 donation.
  3. Dollars for Doers: By volunteering or making a personal donation, staff can earn matching corporate funds to reinvest in a program that impacts them personally.

Below are our amazing recipients for our Corporate Giving and Community Investment tiers in 2024.

Corporate Giving

Small goods. Large impact. From this simple ethos, SoldierStrong began its journey of helping the men and women of the armed services through theirs. Along the way, they’ve developed into a veterans non-profit organization with a national profile that now stands at the forefront of efforts dedicated to improving the lives of our nation’s heroes.

SoldierStrong remains committed to its founding principles: providing our patriots with the resources and support they need to overcome obstacles new and old. The goods that they provide range from state-of-the-art medical devices to veteran scholarships that unlock educational opportunities at some of our nation’s most prestigious institutions. Though these contributions are not small, their impact continues to be outsized.

Community Investment
