Summer & Post-Grad Database Access

Planning ahead for summer research or post-graduation work? Here's what you need to know about access to Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, CEB, and other library resources.

Westlaw

Summer

Continuing students may use Westlaw over the summer for non-commercial research, including work for internships, externships, or academic projects. Student access cannot be used for billable work.

Post-Grad

Graduating students who enroll in the Westlaw Graduate Elite Program are eligible for six free months of Westlaw Precision. Access is limited to 60 hours per month and must be for non-commercial use (i.e., no billable work).

Lexis

Summer

Continuing students retain access to Lexis over the summer. Public Records may not be used for employment purposes.

Check with your employer before using a student login for work; some prefer use of employer-issued credentials.

Post-Grad

Graduates retain access to Lexis+ for six months after graduation. No additional registration is required.

Pursuing public interest work? You may qualify for extended Lexis access. Check eligibility and apply at lexisnexis.com/grad-access.

Bloomberg Law

Summer

Continuing students may use Bloomberg Law over the summer without restrictions.

New to Bloomberg Law? Email lawlibref@ucdavis.edu for a registration code.

Post-Grad

Graduating students receive six months of free, unlimited access to Bloomberg Law following graduation. No additional registration is required.

CEB

Summer

Continuing students may use CEB OnLaw and CEB AccessLaw over the summer without restrictions.

Your student account will remain active and available all summer. No additional registration is required.

Post-Grad

Register for AccessLaw by May 31 with Law School Code DVX25 to extend your access for 18 months after graduation.

Registration is strongly encouraged. CEB materials are used widely across practice areas in California.

Other Databases

Continuing students have full summer access to HeinOnline and other online library subscription resources. Check the law library's A-Z Databases page for information about logging in to resources from off campus.
