Hello everyone:
A few weeks ago, I created a Backup Plan for teaching about Backup Plans. I was scheduled to teach Time Management including planning, and my usual tools were not available to me. I got creative and my class and I tried out the idea together! Read on to learn more about Backup plans, the why and the what and the how in "Plan Ahead for What You Can’t Plan For".
Relatedly, did you know? September is National Preparedness Month.
Since 2004, this annual initiative encourages us to prepare for emergencies, reminding us “we can make a difference by taking proactive steps before a disaster strikes, and encouraging loved ones to do the same” (from ready.gov). Check the website for resources on making a plan, creating your kit, questions to ask and more.
Our next Admin Night is Monday, October 5, 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Spoke and Vine Wine Bar, 95th and Kedzie in Evergreen Park. RSVP to 708-620-8877 or @ info@spokeandvinewines.com.
Do you know SCARCE? The organization does amazing work in your local communities, and their website is an amazing repository of information and local recycling and shredding events! Check it out!
And, since we're on the subject: The Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM) at South Suburban College in South Holland is open again! Click here for more information and to make an appointment.
