Be a Smart(er) Ash 🚨
After nearly a decade of preparation, the invasive emerald ash borer (EAB) has been identified in Denver. This beetle has already caused widespread devastation in 37 U.S. states and parts of Canada.
Trees Matter
EAB attacks and kills ash trees, often within just a few years. In Denver, 1 in 6 trees is an ash tree. If action isn't taken, Denver could lose hundreds of thousands of trees. But with your help, we can protect Denver’s urban forest.
Take Action!
-
Identify Your Trees: Check out photos and tips for identifying ash trees.
-
Inspect your Trees: Know the signs.
-
Make an Action Plan: See your options for treatment or removal and replacement.
-
Spread the Word: Tell your friends and neighbors about EAB.
-
Final Tip: Transporting firewood spreads EAB. Keep wood local.
💸 Denver residents who have room in the public right of way next to their property may be eligible for a FREE tree replacement.

Your Trees are Thirsty 💦
Hot days aren't just tough on us — they're tough on trees, too! With the summer sun in full force, trees across Denver are working hard. A slow, deep watering once or twice a week goes a long way. Focus on the area beneath the canopy, where roots are most active. And remember, young trees especially need a little extra care. Your trees will love you for it!
