Message from the Chair
This month we have had the opportunity to celebrate Earth Day and reaffirm our commitment to a greener department. Last week on April 22nd, we held our second Dragons' Den with the theme “DFM Dragons’ Den Clinic Goes Green”. I want to thank all three presenters for their excellent work and extend my sincere congratulations to the winning team, “Let’s cut the paper: A novel, safe, and sustainable way to clean examination tables”, led by the DFM’s Dr. Curtis Lavoie and Nathan Chiarlitti, a fourth-year med student at uOttawa who will be beginning his residency in family medicine at our Winchester site this July. I would also like to give a warm welcome to our new cohort starting their residency with us. I hope the next two years fulfill and inspire you as family doctors. Lastly, please remember to register for our upcoming events, including the Spring Faculty Development Day on Friday, May 13, and plan to attend our Faculty Orientation on Friday, June 10th. In-person events have been reenergizing, and it’s been lovely seeing the faces of this community.
