About PlatTracker:

PlatTracker is the City of Houston's online development application portal. The new PlatTracker replaces an outdated application developed in-house more than 10 years ago. It will improve efficiency for land planners, civil engineers and surveyors to submit subdivision plat applications for review and presentation to the Houston Planning Commission. Over the last 12 years, PlatTracker has received 51,755 combined plat submittals, name changes, extensions of approval and recordation applications, with an average of 4,312 customers per year.

PlatTracker enables:

  • land planners, civil engineers and surveyors to submit subdivision plat applications for review and presentation to the Houston Planning Commission.
  • applicants and the public to track the progress of plat applications
  • the general public to keep up with land development proposals in their neighborhoods
  •  regional agencies that have an interest in land development in Houston and Houston's extra territorial jurisdiction to share files and communicate their comments to the Planning staff for each application.

The new PlatTracker will additionally:

  •  improve efficiency with a dashboard information display
  • provide enhanced search capabilities for the public
  • streamline the application process
  • provide an intuitive user interface that is easy to navigate
  • allow users to build a personalized workspace
  •  integrate external systems such as payments and geographic information systems
  •  optimize cloud file storage and enable remote access, sharing and exchange of notes

Please be aware, the new system may require applicant action:

  • Draft Applications will not be migrated to the New PlatTracker. Draft applications are applications that have been created, but not been submitted yet. Applicants will create a new draft application on the new system after it goes live.

  • Not-Engaged Organizations (along with their users) will not be migrated to the new PlatTracker system. Not-Engaged Organizations are applicant organizations that are registered in the PlatTracker, but have never submitted any type of applications. Both organization and user(s) accounts will not be migrated; they will be required to register again in the new system.

  • Not-unique email addresses in the current APPLICANT user accounts will be modified in order to comply with the new system user account policy which requires unique email addresses within the PlatTracker system. If you have multiple accounts, please log into each of your user accounts to confirm the email in your profile is accurate..

  • Street Names (if any) reserved by the Not-Engaged Organizations will not be migrated to the new system. The street names that are proposed and attached to submitted applications will be migrated to the new system.
