Dear IASA member,

At the request of Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, the Illinois Association of School Administrators formed a team of superintendents from around Illinois to help school districts respond to challenges created by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Working with representatives from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), General Assembly and others, it started working in March 2020 on the Stay-at-Home Orders and the transition to remote learning of K-12 schools in Illinois.

Formed in April, a subcommittee of the team convened to provide complementary guidance and planning framework support for Illinois superintendents to help plan for the upcoming school year.

The purpose of the framework is to help you get your district to start the conversations and questions around planning. This is not an “answer” document, rather guidance for leading through the pandemic and for the return to schooling in 2020-2021. Click the link to view the framework.
