Gather Ideas for Your Landscape
Bring your camera and a notepad to the WaterWise Landscape Tour on Saturday, Oct. 20, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. It's FREE. Tour six Plano home gardens and the Environmental Education Center's grounds at your own pace. Learn about attractive, native and drought-tolerant plants. Signs name your favorites. Helpful, friendly volunteers answer your questions at each home. Tour different homes than previous years with unique gardening styles. You’ll see pollinator sanctuaries, rainwater harvesting systems and original artwork.

Stop by the headquarters (Environmental Education Center) at 4116 W. Plano Parkway to pick up a free Live Green in Plano garden kneeling pad and free soil moisture meter (while supplies last). Ask experts for advice on irrigation, composting and landscape design. Our partners include Shades of Green Inc., Texas Pure Products and Heads Up Sprinkler Co. Print a tour map and get set for a great gardening adventure.
Forget Library Fines but Don't Forget the Book
Gone are the gloomy days of returning your late library book and paying a hefty fine. The Plano Public Library has done away with overdue fines. You'll pay fees only for lost and damaged items, so handle items with care.

You still need to return items by their due dates. Your account can be blocked from using other Plano Public Library resources or borrowing materials until overdue items are returned. Bring your book back , we won't bite.

In other great library news, learn a new language with the return of Pronunciator . This online program offers lessons on speaking, reading and writing 80 languages.
