Commit to be Fit in 2023 with Plano Parks & Recreation

Put your best self forward in the new year with a City of Plano recreation membership. You are fortunate to have a lot of gym options in Plano, but few offer the family amenities and social connections of Plano recreation centers. Plus, annual memberships are quite affordable with options starting at $155 for adult residents and $399 for families.

Older adults who only want access to Sam Johnson Recreation Center for Adults 50+ at 401 W. 16th St. pay $15 per year for a membership. Seniors pay only $119 for access to all city recreation centers.

Monthly rates are also available for both residents and nonresidents at planoparks.org. Explore the winter/spring 2023 Plano Recreation catalog.

Share Your Thoughts on Police Services

If you live in Plano, please take the Plano Police Department’s Annual Citizen Survey. Help the Department measure how it meets our community's needs and expectations. The survey is mailed to randomly selected residents and is also available online for any resident to participate. These key questions assist the Department in determining citizen perceptions of safety, quality of life and quality of police services. The survey also allows you to convey your priorities for enforcement. Community feedback serves as a "report card" and provides insight into the process of establishing goals, enhancing training and shaping the future of the Police Department.

Everyone is encouraged to complete the survey, including those who took it last year.  The survey ends Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Thank you so much for your cooperation, continued support and for taking time to help identify areas of improvement!

Visit the Bricks of Honor at Memorial Park

Last week the first set of Plano Bricks of Honor were added to the path at Memorial Park. These bricks were purchased by Plano residents to honor U.S. service men and women by name, military branch and service years. Purchase a brick to honor your loved one before the next installation. Bricks are added twice a year prior to Veterans Day and Memorial Day.
