Step Inside GovQA for Public Records Requests
If you’ve ever requested public records, you’ll be happy to learn the City of Plano just simplified the open records request process. On plano.gov, the new user-friendly GovQA portal makes requesting and tracking public records requests easier. The service tracks requests across multiple departments, standardizes records processing and makes frequently asked for information readily available to you.

Inside the portal, submit a new public records request, track its progress and receive email updates. Then read any correspondence or notes about specific requests and download electronic records.
Do a Little Litter Lifting at the Great American Cleanup on April 13
Celebrate Earth Day at the Great American Cleanup (GAC) on Saturday, April 13, 8-11 a.m. Nudge your friends and family to join this community effort to remove litter from our city. Last year's 1,800 volunteers cleaned up over 12 tons of litter. Help us reach this year's goal of 2,000 volunteers and 13 tons of litter (or more). Whether you're a business, faith-based organization, school, club, family or just friends, you choose where to clean up. Collect at your business or school property or our community parks, trails and creeks - they all need to be litter-free.

Sign up by yourself or as a group, then select your location and register for the event. We'll provide free cleanup supplies. Everyone signed up by Sunday, April 7 can attend the volunteer appreciation after-party. The party is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Chase Oaks Church, 281 Legacy Dr. Enjoy a free lunch, Vocal Trash concert, educational booths, games and more!
Submit Applications for Arts and Events Grants
Are you part of a local arts group or involved with a cultural event that brings people to Plano? Your efforts change how others see our city by simply bringing people together for a shared experience. The City's hotel/motel occupancy tax helps create more of these experiences in Plano by providing four types of Arts and Events Grants : Small Arts, Major Arts, Special Events and Urban/Town Center Events. These grants nurture a greater appreciation for the arts, culture and diversity of our residents; encourage the development of new programs; and celebrate collaborative projects involving multiple arts organizations. The deadline for Plano-based 501c3 nonprofit organizations to apply for 2019-20 grants is Wednesday, April 3 at noon. More information and applications are available online .
