Winter Weather Update

Temperatures remain below freezing and precipitation is expected this afternoon/evening.

Our city crews are staged and prepared to address issues on our roads if things take a turn for the worse. We will post and share updates regarding facility closures. Several City facilities are scheduled to be closed tomorrow for MLK Day.

City staff is continually evaluating weather conditions. Please check City channels, including Plano.gov, for the latest winter weather impacts regarding City facilities and services.

Be Prepared

REMEMBER THE 4 P's:

  •  Protect PEOPLE – Keep warm, dress in layers. Check on your friends, family and neighbors.
  •  Protect PETS – Bring pets inside to keep them warm, safe and healthy. If you know of an animal being kept outdoors without appropriate shelter, call Plano Animal Services at (972) 769-4360.
  •  Protect PLANTS – Bring potted plants inside. Cover outdoor plants with cloth fabric. Water young trees.
  •  Protect PIPES – Cover outdoor pipes. Steadily drip faucets. Open cabinet doors to allow air to circulate. Turn off your irrigation system. If your pipes freeze, know how to shut water off to your home: Plano.gov/WinterPrep
