I wanted to reach out to you, as well as the rest of the chamber and extend a thank you for being a part of my first year of college!
The scholarship that I received from the chamber foundation was a huge bonus to the start of my higher education, and my journey into the Construction world
.
My first year of college was mostly everything I had hoped it to be, except for getting cut short in the presence of COVID-19. I established many new relationships with friends, professors, faculty, and of course the amazing people in the cafeteria! Besides the many relationships that I established, I also learned a lot in class. I started my many general education requirements, introductory Construction Management classes, and some of the electives that go hand in hand with both.
The amount of new information and knowledge that I have acquired in just my first year is off the charts!
As we all know, this knowledge comes with a price.
The scholarship that I received from the chamber foundation was the extra motivation I needed going into college. It gave me access to some of the best equipment that I have ever worked with
.
Just to name a few; Construction software to enable me to build real life models online, scale measuring tools for the hundreds (yes hundreds) of plans that I reviewed, online books and manuals for every one of my classes, the list goes on.
Had it not have been for the scholarship, these tools and priceless knowledge that comes with them would have been much harder to come by
.
As we sit currently, I am indulging in summer classes and soaking up all the information I can about Macro Economics and geology, which Iām thinking about minoring in! I am looking forward to this next coming year to learn more, experience more, and have fun doing it!
