As part of our education initiative, we provide FREE environmental education presentations to learners of all ages.

Tree Giveaways

A tree recipient poses with their fruit trees after a giveaway in Newark in Fall 2024.

How would you like to step outside of your house and be able to pluck a fresh, juicy fruit from a tree in your yard? The NJ Tree Foundation wants to help make that happen! We have two fruit tree giveaway events this spring. We are giving away a variety of fruit trees. We ask that you register for a fruit tree ahead of time in order to make sure you are able to get the variety you want.

4/25 from 10am - 1pm at Military Park, Orange

Please stay tuned for a registration form for the Orange Giveaway!

4/26 from 1pm - 4pm at Mastery High School in Camden

Tree Maintenance Events

Interested in working directly with NJTF staff to prune trees in your neighborhood? If so, let's have a Maintenance Day for your block! Please contact Crystal for Camden/South Jersey residents, and Elena for Newark/North Jersey residents. We'll have some fun while pruning and maintaining your trees!

Green Streets Update

A rain garden in Rahway after being maintained by our Green Streets crew.

The New Jersey Tree Foundation's Green Streets program provides paid, seasonal jobs for men under parole supervision. Your town can hire our Green Streets crew to plant trees, maintain rain gardens, or prune, mulch, and water your existing trees! We are currently accepting bids for Summer 2025 for tree watering and rain garden revitalization/maintenance, and Fall 2025 for tree planting.

Please submit bid packages to Lisa Simms at Lsimms@njtreefoundation.org

Honorary & Memorial Giving

Tribute and memorial gifts offer a meaningful way of honoring a loved one. Celebrate a special occasion, honor a memory, or pay tribute to someone special by making a tax-deductible gift to the NJ Tree Foundation that will make an immediate impact on New Jersey’s environment. Donors will receive a letter of acknowledgement, along with the option of having a card sent to the honoree or relevant family members. Making a donation in someone's honor is a unique gift that gives back!

Trees for YOUR Town!

Volunteers plant a tree in the Forest Hill Neighborhood of Newark.

New Jersey Tree Foundation's Renaissance Trees Program is currently accepting applications for Fall 2025. If you live in Newark or surrounding areas, please apply here. We look forward to hearing from you!
