Dear Neighbor,
In 2024, the Plantation Acres Improvement District filed false information with the Florida Auditor General on a financial statement. The District presented that expenditures for the fiscal year 2023-2024 adopted budget for the General Fund totaled approximately $1,525,000, which was approximately a 2% increase from the previous budget year. In actuality the adopted budget was approved by the Board at $2,183,000, which was an actual 42%+ increase. Most likely this was done in order to avoid bringing the scrutiny of State Auditors on the District’s financial practices due to such a large increase in taxes at one time.
